With offices in the United States, Nigeria, Kenya, and India, Branch is a for-profit socially conscious company that uses the power of data science to reduce the cost of delivering financial services in emerging markets. We believe that everyone everywhere deserves fair financial access. The rapid spread of smartphones presents an opportunity for the world’s emerging middle class to access banking options and achieve financial flexibility. With over 49 million downloads, Branch is one of the most popular finance apps in the world.

Branch’s mission-driven team is led by the founder and former CEO of Kiva.org. The company presents a rich opportunity for our team members to drive meaningful growth in rapidly evolving and changing markets. In 2019, Branch announced our Series C and had garnered more than $100M in funding with investments from leading Silicon Valley firms, including Andreessen Horowitz, Trinity Capital, Foundation Capital, Visa, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

We value diversity and are committed to providing an inclusive working environment where human beings of all backgrounds can thrive.

About the role

Branch launched its lending business in India in 2019 and has seen rapid adoption and growth. We are growing our product and engineering team in India. As part of the product team, you will work closely with our global engineering team (distributed across three continents) to strengthen the capabilities of our existing product and build out new products for Branch.

As a company, we are passionate about our customers, fearless in the face of barriers, and driven by data. As a product-driven org, we value bottom-up innovation and decentralized decision-making. We believe the best ideas can come from anyone in the company, and we create an environment where everyone feels empowered to propose solutions to the challenges we face. As a Product Manager, you will help the team achieve its goals through deep product work and servant-style leadership.

Here are some things you’ll do

  • Participate and assist in the lifecycle of development for key areas of the Branch product. This encompasses everything from researching new features and creating detailed specs, to managing the team’s workflow and shipping deliverables on time.
  • Work closely with our engineering and operational teams to triage bugs, define requirements, and set high-level quarterly milestones.
  • Evaluate, initiate, and manage partnerships with third-party vendors to help Branch achieve our product roadmap.
  • Draw insights from user research, experiments, and industry trends to set the team strategy and prioritize projects that sustainably grow our customer base and drive the adoption of new products.

About you

  • Demonstrated the ability to manage projects, bring clarity to ambiguous questions, and chart a path forward.
  • Top-notch analytical abilities. You can measure initiatives quantitatively, and you draw actionable insights to guide decisions.
  • You have solid technical fluency and can work effectively with engineers. You understand how systems are built, can reason about tradeoffs, and use that understanding to drive better product decisions.
  • You know that startups are a team sport. You listen to others, speak your mind, and ask the right questions. You are a great collaborator and teacher. Effective written communication skills and the ability to work with remote teams are essential.
  • You are eager to learn new skills, solve complex problems, and work closely with diverse teams, including Design and Engineering.
  • You are resourceful. You know how to do more with less, and you’ve worked on lean teams that have had a large impact. You are not afraid of big challenges, and you do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Additional Criteria

  • 1 to 3 years of experience
  • Experience with Fintech industry would be good, but not a must-have

Benefits of Joining

  • Competitive salary and equity package
  • Fast-paced, collaborative, and high-autonomy work culture

  • Monthly WFH stipend, along with a one-time home office setup budget
  • $500 annual professional development budget

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple priorities with geographically dispersed teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; technical background is a plus.

  • 1+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, consulting, or related role.
